BRANDING

Personal Brand

  • How does one create their own branding when they are still discovering who they are as a designer? This question popped into my head many times when creating my own logo and personal brand. The journey through my graphic design program has taught me so much about the world and myself as a person but I know the journey of learning will continue for years to come.

  • They always say “dress for the job you want, not the job you have” and that expression is reflected in my branding. Clean, minimalistic, and fresh are the words that I want to come to mind when people see my logo and how people view my design work moving forward in my career.

Used Book Café

  • This project was to develop a name, logo, and visual identity for the Used Book Café.

  • This fictional café is known for its baked goods and over 140 types of bread. Sweets are also on the menu. The space spans 1,120 square feet and the property also features a 1,185-square-foot mezzanine level full of used books, offering a full catalogue of titles with more than 500 books available for reading.

  • Since this was my second time creating a logo I had some good experience under my belt. I started with doing research on other local cafes and creating mood boards for the feeling that I was wanting to portray. My favorite part about this project was brainstorming different ideas for café names and exploring typefaces that I felt would convey the right message.

Outlander

  • This project was to develop a logo and title card for a drama television series.

  • Outlander is a drama about the adventurous life of a Highland warrior who marries a 1945 English combat nurse when she’s mysteriously swept back in time to 1743.

  • Outlander is one of my favorite shows so I was very excited when I started this project. To generate ideas I started by making mood boards for each of the protagonists and it gave me good insight on the main themes of the story. This was my first time making a logo and it taught me a lot about typography, balance, and legibility. Experimenting with different typefaces and how they interact with different backgrounds was my favorite part of creating this design.
